How to Download BricsCAD
Quick answer: Log in to your Octave account (or sign up if you don’t have one), then either click “Try BricsCAD for free” or use the BricsCAD menu’s Download option. Choose your platform, language, and version, then click Download. You don’t need a licence key to get started; the download starts a 30-day free trial, and one installer covers every product level from Lite to Ultimate.
How to Download BricsCAD
- Log in to your Octave account on their website. If you don’t have one yet, you can sign up during this step.
- Either click Try BricsCAD for free, or hover over the BricsCAD menu in the title bar and click Download.
- Choose your platform, language, and version from the dropdowns. The most recent version is selected by default; open the dropdown if you need an older release instead.
- Click Download BricsCAD.
One installer covers every product level, Lite, Pro, Mechanical, BIM, and Ultimate, so you don’t need to decide on a level before downloading. What unlocks depends on the licence key you activate afterwards, not which file you downloaded.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to buy a licence before downloading BricsCAD? No. Downloading and installing gets you a 30-day free trial with no licence key required. You only need a key if you’re activating a licence you’ve already purchased.
Does the download include every product level, or do I need to pick Lite, Pro, and so on? One installer covers all of them. The product level you end up with depends on the licence key you activate, not on anything you choose during download.
Can I download an older version instead of the newest one? Yes. The version dropdown defaults to the latest release, but opening it lets you select an older version instead.
